FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Qn: How do I receive content on my phone via Bluetooth?
Ans: Firstly, turn on Bluetooth. Go to the Settings or Connectivity menu, select “Bluetooth” and then, make your profile “visible”. Our installed system will detect your phone’s presence and send out a prompt, asking if you want to receive the incoming message via Bluetooth from (name of sender) which is very often the name of the advertiser.

Qn: Can my phone number be detected?
Ans: Never. Our system only detects the MAC address of the Bluetooth “chip” installed in your device.

Qn: As a marketer using this advertising medium, how do I get people to turn on Bluetooth on their phones to download my messages?
Ans: Through publicity signage such as banners, posters, announcements, screen displays, etc. More and more people are turning on Bluetooth. Initially, we detected 800-1000 Bluetooth enabled phones everyday at one of our hotspots - now we detect 2000-4000. Also, our current network records recurring presence of consumers who come back to download different content again.

Qn: Will I have to pay to download the content via Bluetooth?
Ans: No, the transfer of data via Bluetooth technology is free.

Qn: What type of content can be broadcast?
Ans: Multimedia files – animated gif files, video clips, and MP3s.

Qn: Is this spam?
Ans: No. Those who do not wish to receive the messages have full control not to get detected. They have to opt-in before the message gets received. We see unhappy faces only when people were not able to download the message to their phones…

Qn: If I had downloaded a message from a particular hotspot previously, would I be prompted again to receive the same message when I return to the hotspot?
Ans: For the same message you will not be prompted again.

Qn: Will our phones be infected with a virus while downloading?
Ans: All OghmaMedia broadcast stations are secured with layers of protection and constantly monitored. In general, virus files are transmitted from phone to phone through the process of device-pairing. Our solution does not require the user to pair his/her phone. We want to assure our clients and consumers that we value their trust and they may continue to download OghmaMedia content with confidence.
