If you have an entrepreneurial spirit and you want to start your own business, affiliate internet marketing may be one of the most promising options available to you at the moment.
This concept can be unfamiliar to people who have conducted business in a more traditional way. So here are some of the perks of affiliate marketers, compared to the more traditional route:
* Low Startup Costs: If you wanted to start a store that sold books, you would have to find a building, employ numerous staff, find a supplier, create a marketing campaign to inform people – and then progress through the processes needed to provide good customer service.
With an online affiliate marketing business, you can get a profitable business off the ground with 0, and all you need is a computer and access to the internet.
* Automated Functions: If you ran a bricks-amd-mortar store, you would need to constantly worry about transactions.
You’d have to pay credit card processing fees and you’d have to worry about customers returning the product. What about special orders or when you run out of stock? With affiliate internet marketing, the product you sell and the payment process is all run for you by a third-party system. After you have launched your marketing campaign, you can sit back and watch the sales tick over.
* Easy To Switch Gears: If you ran a bookstore and wanted to switch to selling shoes, it would be a tough process.
However, for internet markets, it’s not. It’ll just take a little bit of work and that same 0 or less of startup money mentioned earlier. And the best part? Your “bookstore” is still active online and making money for you, even after you’ve moved on to numerous other products.
* Residual Income: Once you create a campaign, it remains active online and continually generates income.
Is that true in any other business? No – all similar business ventures need constant attention or maintenance. Not so in affiliate marketing. You may want to tweak an existing campaign to maximize your income potential as time goes on, but it is not necessary, and if you do it, it doesn’t even take that much work.
Your campaign, otherwise, remains active with the product or service still being sold, and you still making money.
Learning the nuts and bolts about affiliate internet marketing is really important. Get the basics right and your path to success will be faster and easier. Learning from people who are proven masters will set you in the right direction.

Before I explain why affiliate marketing is an effective way to earn money let me state the obvious. Most industries in the business world are suffering from the recession. Some, however, are recession proof. Still, some even thrive because of the recession. As an example, lead generation companies are surging forward because of the recession. More leads for debt and education. That is why affiliate networks are so popular right now. Affiliate links are earning people more money then ever before. In our case, Underground Elephant is improving its affiliate network to become the top affiliate network in California.
Now, let me explain why affiliate marketing is so effective.
1. You don’t have to bear the cost of creating and maintaining a product.
All you do is get traffic to your affiliate links anyway you can.
2. You don’t have to mess around with overhead costs associated with a product. That is, spending money on storage, electricity, water, and rental fees. Again, you get part of the commission once a product or service is sold without all the costs. Secondly, you don’t have to worry about getting a license to start a business. As an affiliate, you will be legalized to do business.
3. You will not have to keep track of your inventory.
4. You will never have to worry about shipping. If the customer buys through you, you will be paid commission
5. You do not have to handle any credit card transactions.
6. You will never have to handle returns, refunds and other kinds of customer support and enquiries. The merchant will settle all these problems.
7. You will not have to set up a very big website with a shopping cart that will show all the kinds of products that are being offered.
These 7 reasons may not have convinced you to dive right in to affiliate marketing. However, hopefully they have given you a better idea what affiliate marketing is. In a nutshell, you get affiliate links which you advertise however you can to earn a commission off of each product sold. If you know how to generate traffic or own a website, affiliate marketing will earn you good money.
Affiliate marketing is no get rich scheme by any means. But, it is a great way to get your foot in the door to online marketing. If you want to work from home, this is the ideal way to do it.

This article is perfect for those who are looking to start out with Internet Marketing, as well as those who are new to it, and want to know more about what exactly is affiliate marketing.
I’ll attempt to answer all questions you have about affiliate marketing in this article.
I’ve seen lots of people asking this question – I’m going to answer this question in layman terms here, so everyone can understand.
Affiliate marketing is where you’ll be promoting other people’s products and services to potential customers and get paid commission whenever someone purchases the products and services you recommend.
Of course affiliate marketing is 100% legitimate.
Lots of people have managed to generate millions of dollars from affiliate marketing every year and you can do the same as well.
It is definitely not a sham…
Some of the advantages of affiliate marketing include:
No need to bother about inventory
No need for you to have a warehouse to store products. It is done by the merchants.
No need to set up payment processing
No need for you to set up payment processing as well – as it is also done by the merchant. All you need is to sent potential customers to the merchant’s website, and everything else will be taken care of.
You can make lots of money from affiliate marketing
Take digital books for example – most of these merchants pay out up to 75% for a sale of a digital book – for example, if you manage to refer a sale for a digital book worth , you’ll receive a commission of – it’s as simple as that.
You can sell to anybody around the world
There’s no boundaries on the Internet – your website or promotion will be seen by everyone around the world – this means that you have a chance to sell to anybody around the world! This is unlike a physical business, where you can only (in most cases) sell to people within the country where the business is located.
In affiliate marketing, the amount of money you will make will depend on the amount of sales you make – and the merchant will pay you a certain amount of commission based on every sale. There are no downlines in affiliate marketing – you work directly work the merchant.
However, for Multi Level Marketing, the amount of money you’ll eventually make will depend on the money you make as well as the money your downlines make. The more number of downlines you have and the more money they make, the more money you’ll make in turn. It is impossible for you to profit a lot from Multi Level Marketing if do not have a good downline. I personally am not into Multi Level Marketing so I can’t comment any further.
My answer to this question is – it all depends on how much time and effort you want to put into it.
You need to follow the right steps and strategies – there are many people out there who claim that they can help you make millions of dollars overnight – most of these are scams, so please do not believe them.
It is possible though to make millions of dollars over a period of time – you need to first establish yourself on the Internet community as someone people can look to for answers on a certain subject/topic – and once you’ve built that trust with people, you can be sure that the community will buy whatever product/service you promote (and that’s when you’ll see millions of dollars coming in)
To be honest with you – when I was first introduced to this Internet Marketing business in late 2006, I, too, was also very skeptical as to whether this whole thing is genuine or is it nothing but scam.
After some persuasion, I decided to try it out and I was lucky enough to learn from the right Internet Marketing gurus (I was also scammed by some) who taught me the right techniques and strategies to profit from Internet Marketing as an affiliate marketer.
You can choose to sell either physical products (e.g. televisions, cameras, books, computers, etc.) or digital products (e.g. digital books, MP3s, etc.).
If you are interested in selling physical products, you may wish to sign up as an affiliate for Amazon (where you can promote anything on the Amazon website and get a commission of about 4% – 8% per sale), or an an affiliate in Commission Junction, Performics (In Commission Junction and Performics, you can find many companies where you can promote products for – such as Sony, HP, etc.)
If you are interested in selling digital products, you can sign up as an affiliate for Clickbank where you can sell digital books on any topics such as business, health and fitness, personal development, marketing, etc.
In addition, you can also make money by giving out free memberships to people, free products (like free game consoles, free gift cards, free ringtones, etc.) or when someone requests for a free financial quotation, etc. – Here are some of the networks you may want to sign up – MaxBounty, ClickBooth, CPA Empire.
Most of the affiliate networks (such as ClickBank, Commission Junction, Performics) issue out payments by check, and most of them issue out payments once every month. However, there are some (like ClickBank) that issues out payment every fortnightly.
Once you’ve received the checks, you can just bank them in your country’s local bank the same way you bank in normal checks. However, the checks might take a little bit longer to clear – between a week to approximately a month, depending on the bank – my suggestion is to check with them directly.
Yes, all affiliate programs will have an option for you to see how many sales you’ve generated as an affiliate, as well as how much you’ve made over a period of time – such as in a single day, in a week, in a month, or in a year.
You’ll also know when payments are being sent out.
Ask yourself these questions – “what am I interested in?”, “What do I like to do in my spare time?” – For example, you love playing golf during the weekends, and you have an affiliation for it, then that’s what you should start off with – selling golf products as an affiliate.
Still continuing with the example of golf, you can either sell digital books on how to improve your golf swing, or you can sell golf clubs, golf balls, etc.
Next, you’ll need to find a merchant in the golf niche that has an affiliate program so that whenever somebody you referred to purchases something from the merchant’s website, you’ll be paid a certain amount of commission.
How you can find merchants in the golf niche that has an affiliate program is very easy – just head over to Google and type in the following:
[your area of interest] affiliate program – using the example of golf, you’ll type the following into the Google search:
golf affiliate program
Google will return a list of websites with merchants that offer an affiliate program. Visit those sites one buy one and sign up for their affiliate program. Normally, you do not need to pay to sign up for their affiliate program.
Once the merchant approves you to be their affiliate, they will give you a unique link (known as your affiliate link), which you’ll have to give to your potential customers to visit to purchase products/services that you’re promoting (the reason is because you’ll only be paid commissions if your potential customers purchase the products/services through your affiliate link)
That’s how you can get started with affiliate marketing.
I would say you should look for your niche first. There’s no point in choosing the most profitable product to promote but you know nuts about that product – it will be very difficult for you to be able to convince potential customers for that particular product to buy from you as well.
Absolutely. Let me show you how.
First of all, it’s free to sign up to become an affiliate for the merchants. Next, you can make use of a free blogging website such as Blogger to set up your website to promote products for the merchant.
Once you’re done with your blog, you need to drive traffic to it (no traffic = no sales) You can make use of free traffic generation methods such as MySpace, FaceBook, Friendster, etc. to drive traffic to your website.
You can also drive traffic by placing advertisements on free advertisement sites like usfreeads, or write articles around the product/s that you’re promoting and submit them to the various article directories – such as EzineArticles, Article Dashboard.
By using the methods above you’ll be able to receive tonnes of traffic to your website, and get some sales.
So there you have it! A nutshell of how you can do affiliate marketing on a zero budget.
There are many ways to drive traffic to your website – both paid and free.
Let me go into the paid methods first – you can advertise your websites on the various search engines such as Google, Yahoo and MSN. For these paid search advertising, you’ll have to pay whenever someone clicks on your advertisement to go into your website.
Next, for free advertising, there’s lots of ways for you to drive traffic to your website (I’m going to list some of them here):
1. Write articles and submit them to the various article directories – in the author’s byline, include a link to your website.
2. Participate in forums in the area where you’re promoting products in (for example, if you’re promoting golf products, then you should visit golf forums). Some of these forums will allow you to put a forum signature – which is a link that’ll appear at the end of all your forum posts – include a link to your website there.
3. Sign up for social networking websites – such as MySpace, FaceBook, Friendster, etc. and connect with people in your niche area.
4. Post a free advertisement in free advertising networks such as usfreeads.
You can make you of advertising sites such as usfreeads, or you can pay to advertise on the various search engines such as Google, Yahoo and MSN.
Yes, you can use Pay Per Click Search Engine Marketing alone in affiliate marketing (I’ve done this before and made quite a lot of money from it).
However, you need to be equipped with the right skills in order to be able to create profitable campaigns.
Here’s my answer – both can be very profitable – if you do them right. I won’t go into Google Adsense here but in essence, as a newbie, you should pick one (either affiliate marketing or Google Adsense) and focus on it.
First and foremost, for those of you who do not know what a landing page / squeeze page is, it’s basically a page that is used for the purpose of collecting your potential customers’ first name and email address in exchange for something – it could be a free report, free email training course, free audio program, etc. It has the intention of eventually leading the potential customers to the products/services you’re promoting.
As to whether or not you should use a landing/squeeze page with affiliate marketing will depend on your marketing effort – some of them build one to build his/her list so as to be able to sell to them in future (as the saying goes “the money is in your list”). But remember this – do NOT build a list and just send them emails to ask them to buy the products/services you are promoting – it’s probably going to turn them off. You have to give them VALUE, such that they’ll open up your email when they see them in their inbox instead of sending them to the thrash can.
There are people who did not use a squeeze/landing page – they would just send potential customers directly to the product sales page.
So it all depends on what your marketing strategy is – my advice is, try both of them out, and see which one works for you better.
URL Masking is basically hiding your affiliate URL and make it shorter. Let me give you an example – if you are promoting a ClickBank product, your affiliate link will look something like this:
Does the above link look very long and bulky?
One look at the URL people will know you’re trying to sell them something as an affiliate.
Here’s where URL masking comes in – to hide your affiliate id as well as to make your link shorter.
You can make use of free services such as TinyURL or PinURL.
Are you ready to discover the solutions you have been searching for?
What does it need to become a prosperous Affiliate Marketer? What are the ingredients of an affiliate marketing success story? Is there a shortcut to Affiliate Marketing glory? All these questions play about in the minds of affiliate marketers who want to make it big in this area.
Though affiliate marketing is touted as one of the easiest and uttermost effective ways to create money online, it is not as easy as it sounds. The wise affiliate marketer plans every move and executes it the best way he can. He should also increase the potential to succeed by utilizing the right tools appropriate for a successful Affiliate Marketing program. We have consulted several of the most successful affiliate marketers in the area and lower down are the top three essential tools for a thriving affiliate marketing business.
Crucial Advice #1: Your Own Website
The greatest important and indispensable tool in Affiliate Marketing is your own site. The chief step in any thriving affiliate marketing business is creating a good, believable and professional looking website. Your website is the jump off point of all your marketing efforts. Thus, you must first create an -easy-to-use website, which will appeal to your prospects and encourage them to click on the links to the goods and services you are promoting and hopefully create a purchase. Consequently, you must first focus your efforts in building a site that can cater to what your prospects need. The most important thing you should consider is that almost all web users go online to search for information, not automatically to go and buy something.
Above all else, make your website full of original, pertinent and practical content. People love articles that are appealing and helpful. Keep in mind that, in the internet, content is always key and top quality content will not just raise your credibility, it can also help you fulfil a higher-level search engine ranking. By posting relevant and useful articles, you establish yourself as a credible authority in the field, displaying you a trustworthy endorser of the product or service you support. Establishing a good reputation is a good move in building up a loyal consumer base.
Crucial Advice #2: Incentives
Competition is extremely fierce in the internet world. You should always be one-movement in advance of your rivals to ensure that you capture a critical share of your target market. Therefore, you must use every conceivable means to inspire people not solely to visit your website but also to click and proceed to the websites of the opportunities and services you are promoting. Creating an opt-in email list is one of the better ways to gather prospects. Offer a newsletter or an e-zine. Better yet, offer incentives to your prospects to inspire them to subscribe to your newsletters. You can present free softwares, access to unique services and other freebies that will be helpful to your prospects.
Important Advice #3: Url Popularity
The value of driving highly targeted traffic to your website cannot be emphasized enough. The all-important web traffic is at the top of the list of the most crucial entities in the internet arena. Attracting people to your site has to be the first action you should carry out. Do everything to achieve a top search engine ranking. Link Popularity is one of the factors that search engines use to establish search engine rankings. so, to elevate your link popularity, you must launch an aggressive reciprocal link action.
One of the better ways to do this, at no cost at all, is by submitting articles, with your site’s web address in the resource box, to e-zines and free article sites. You may not only earn exposure, you may also have the opportunity to advertise for no cost, just include a link pointing to your site. The more sites you send your articles to, the better your link popularity is. Ensure your articles are unique, pertinent and practical so that other websites may pick it up and post it.
These are but three of the many tools that an affiliate marketer can use to build up earning potential. The possibilities are endless and are restricted only by your vision, creativity, resourcefulness and resolution. You can always explore other ideas and adapt other strategies, which you believe might help you become a high rolling affiliate marketer.
The advantages of affiliate marketing are far more pronounced today than ever before. This is one of the most important reasons for the approval for affiliate marketing among so many net marketers.
Latest web technology has enabled the affiliate marketers to get their stats and income figures the instant they make an affiliate sale. It is now possible to use firms like PayPal for payment and invoice processing. This has highly curtailed the time that an affiliate marketer needs to hang about for his payments to get collected from the merchants.
Both the affiliates and the merchants have now realized that affiliate marketing is effective for both. The merchants understand affiliate marketing as a chance to advertise their products at a much lesser cost. On the other hand, the affiliates see affiliate marketing as a basic way of earning profits online by doing something which they like most, and that’s web publishing.
Just as the admiration for affiliate marketing has gone into overdrive, likewise the lookout of folks has changed for the better about affiliate marketing. Affiliate marketing is no longer considered as a secondary system of marketing by the merchants, or as an additional income source by an affiliate marketer. For merchants and affiliates alike, affiliate marketing is now considered as a major source of profits and income.
We now have a need to research what type of affiliate marketing will work the best for any person? Are there any differences in affiliate marketing programs? Are the paybacks from these programs the same? Which are those affiliate marketing programs that work better than the others?
There are really types of affiliate marketing, and the types will depend upon how you’re going to classify them. The primary classification of affiliate marketing programs falls into two classes : pay-per-click ( PPC ), and pay-per-performance ( PPP ).
one. Pay-per-click ( pay per click ) – PPC is the most well liked kind of affiliate marketing for affiliates with small websites, and doubtless the easiest way for them to earn money. In this affiliate marketing type, the merchant pays his affiliate each time a visitor is referred to his site, that is whenever someone clicks through the merchant’s banner or text adverts. The affiliate gets paid a certain amount even if the visitor he referred doesn’t purchase anything from the merchant’s site. characteristic fees for pay-per-click affiliate programs are tiny, often not exceeding a greenback for each click.
two. Pay Per Performance ( PPP ) – PPP affiliate marketing is well liked among merchants and is also the nicest type for the affiliates. In this type of affiliate program, the merchant pays the affiliate only when his referral converts into an action – that’s whenever the visitor he has referred really buys something from the merchant’s site or when the visitor becomes a lead. This means that the merchant saves a lot on his own direct marketing efforts. On the other hand, this kind of affiliate marketing becomes financially most rewarding for the dedicated affiliate, for commissions in PPP affiliate marketing usually comes in the range of 15% to 20% of the product sales. And, in the case of e-products or e-goods, the affiliate commission can go as high as seventy – 75% of the sale cost.
Pay-per-performance affiliate marketing can further be classified into two types : pay-per-sales ( PPS ) and pay-per-lead ( PPL ). Both these are highly popular.
a ) Pay Per Sale ( PPS ) – In a pay-per-sale type of affiliate marketing, the merchants pay the affiliate a certain fee whenever the visitor he has referred to the merchant’s site actually buys something from the merchant’s site. Affiliates are frequently paid on commission basis, although other merchants would decide to pay a fixed fee. But no matter what the basis of the charge is, it is generally higher than the fee paid to affiliates in a pay-per-click affiliate program.
b ) Pay Per Lead – The pay-per-lead type of affiliate marketing is a slight change of the PPS type and is often used by insurance and finance companies and other firms who rely on leads for their company to grow. In this kind of affiliate marketing, the affiliate is paid whenever the visitor he referred to the merchant’s site fills up an application document or any similar form related to the business of the company. Compensation for this sort of affiliate marketing relies on a fixed fee whose rates approximate that of the fixed fee in the PPS type. Generally, the sales conversion rate is the highest in the case of PPL, because, the visitor isn’t needed to buy anything but only complete a non-financial exchange, like, filling up an application form, subscribing to a newsletter, etc .
Aside from these three categorical types of affiliate marketing, lots of other affiliate marketing types exist. If the classification is based primarily on the depth of the affiliate network, it can be classified as single-tier, two-tier, and multi-tier affiliate marketing. There’s also another kind of affiliate marketing that pays the affiliate each time the buyer he has referred purchases something from the merchant’s site.
Single-Tier, Two-Tier, and Multi-Tier Affiliate Marketing
These types of affiliate marketing are based primarily on the different levels or tiers in the affiliate network by which payments are made.
A ) Single Tier – In a single-tier affiliate marketing program, the affiliates are only paid based on the direct sales or traffic he has referred to the merchant. All of the formerly mentioned affiliate marketing types ( i.e. PPS, PPL, and PPC ) fall under the single-tier classification.
B ) two Tier – In two-tier affiliate marketing programs, the affiliates aren’t only paid for the direct traffic or sales that he brings to the merchant’s site, but also on every traffic or sales referred by other affiliates who joined as sub-affiliate of the above affiliate marketer.
C ) Multi Tier – Multi-tier affiliate marketing works the same way, although the affiliate gets extra commission for more number of levels of affiliates in different tiers in the affiliate network.
D ) Residual revenue associate promoting – In this kind, aside from the affiliate getting money for every client he has referred to the merchant’s site, the affiliate is also paid whenever the customer he has referred goes back to the merchant’s site and purchases another product. Commission for such sort of affiliate marketing is based on either proportion of sales or based mostly on fixed fee.
Each affiliate marketer reveals that these strategies work differently for every one of them. For instance, multi tier affiliate marketing, also called Multi-Level promoting ( MLM ) is a highly tough sort of net marketing and it doesn’t work for everyone. As an interesting point, many legitimate marketers consider MLM as illegal or something which is unattractive.
An affiliate marketer has to try out different strategies and decide which will work best for her. He/she should then concentrate on those affiliate marketing methods which are suitable for his/her style of internet marketing business.

5 main things come to mind classifieds, articles or hubs, forums, viral marketing or videos such as you tube etc…, and your own affiliate website! Lets start off by talking about articles or hubs, whats so good about them? First off when you write an article or a hub too promote an affiliate product, your hub or article will have a great advantage right out off the gates. What’s that advantage? I’m glad you asked its a high page rank Ezinearticles.com and Hubpages have a high page rank of 6 or 7 on a scale of 1-10 so you will essentially rank very high for your keywords in your article or hub! The title of your hub will rank very well when optimized correctly for the keyword phrase you are going after! Lets put this into simple terms, if you have a website with a page rank of 0 or 1 with the exact same content as your article or hub. Your article of hub will be indexed higher each and every time just because of the simple fact that it has a higher pr or page rank. Ezinearticles.com or Hubpages, is simply seen as way more important than your website because they are. They have millions of users and have been rewarded from the big players in the search engines Google, Yahoo, and MSN. Take advantage of this by writing quality articles, and you will be rewarded for your efforts by a lot of free quality traffic! Not to mention articles don’t expire like classifieds do, so they will be out in cyberspace potentially making you great affiliate marketing commissions for years to come! I can’t stress this enough take advantage of article writing. Tip for Hubpages – which is by far my personal favorite! They give you an option to set up an Adsense account with Google. which puts related paid links on each of your hubs, when someone clicks on those ads you get paid. Another great residual income stream to earn extra income at home, take advantage of it!
my personal favorite classified which I pay for .99 a month is U.S freeads I have a premium membership with them for a reason, why? I makes 20 times that plus just by writing classifieds through U.Sfreeads! Your classifieds don’t expire like they would on Craigslist, Kijiji, etc… and they can’t be marked as spam, and you can write as many as you want its unlimited. Another benefit I like about them is the ads you can make are really sharp, they look like little mini websites! Not as boring looking as Craigslist, you can really make them standout. Google also loves U.S free ads and they have a high page rank, so your ads rank really well so I would recommend anyone starting out to take advantage of U.Sfreeads features. Trust me from experience its a small investment, for the big return you can get from it! You can sign up through my link on my learn affiliate marketing page, at jaysonlinereviews.com. Craigslist is also a pretty good one – due to the millions of people using there classified site on a daily basis. But the one downfall, is they don’t allow you to put Clickbank ads on the classifieds that you make. So you have to link your affiliate ads to a hub, website, etc… basically redirect your classifieds to wherever your affiliate links are so you can potentially make a sale. Another negative I have learned to get around for the most part on Craigslist is it seems everyone on there has nothing better to do than flag your hubs as spam. Which can be very annoying at times Craigslist Tip: Just make sure you get your point across in your ads quickly! Don’t make them to long or spammy, and make sure to put them in the correct category I use the books/magazines category for my Clickbank ads a lot and link them to my website, or hub… This has cut out most of my classified ads as being flagged as spam!
This will be quick and to the point. Forums are good for a couple of reasons. Reason number 1. You can put your affiliate ads in your signature at the bottom of each and every post you make in a forum. Once you set them up once they will automatically show up in all your affiliate posts! So choose your affiliate ads wisely. Affiliate tip for forums to generate an extra income affiliate marketing! Choose the title of your posts wisely, as these will be indexed by the search engines. My advice to any newbie affiliate marketer out there, who is clueless in how to get affiliate traffic from a forum is research keywords for your title in your posts. Remember the lower the competition for those keywords the better. Look up jaysonlinereviews.com and go to my learn affiliate marketing page, and you will find there I discuss bum marketing. Apply the bum marketing technique to every affiliate post you make in the forums! This will get you even more traffic…. trust me it works! My favorite forums are Websitebabble, Webproworld, and Warrior Forum. Le’s move on to our next topic on how to earn extra income at home affiliate marketing!
Let’s face it video marketing is exploding! Everyone these days pretty much uses Youtube, Metcafe, and the other video sites out there! Google owns Youtube so you know the videos you make will rank very well in the search engines! So if you have a camera or camcorder handy I would recommend you make a video… Tons of potential views, which in turn can be tons of extra affiliate commissions in your pocket. Affiliate tip: You can link your website, hub, classified, or article to your channel page – which shows up next to every video you made on Youtube this can be another free great source of traffic for you the commission hungry affiliate wink. So if you have time, make a couple videos on Youtube. These days if your serious about one day earning an extra income at home affiliate marketing, video marketing cannot be ignored its too damn powerful!!!!!
On anything that interests you! You can get a website for a whole year for 40-80 bucks depending on what package you go with. I personally do a review website that is always a work in progress called jaysonlinereviews.com on my homepage I have a review of some webhosts. Who’s good? who’s not? and so forth…. But at some point I would recommend all affiliates who are serious about earning not just some extra income but the big money some day, to invest in there own website. One affiliate commission through Clickbank, can pretty much take care of all your hosting fees for the whole year! But if you want to play with the big boys in the affiliate marketing game, your gonna eventually need a website! Website tip: pick a niche to have your website revolve around, maybe find a Clickbank niche that interests you. Make your website around that Clickbank niche! Remember in this industry think the eye of the tiger the theme song from Rocky…. When you get knocked down and you hit a few bumps in the road, in your affiliate marketing journey. Get back up and wipe yourself off and keep on swinging! This is what separates the winners from the losers. You’ll eventually get that knockout punch, you so desperately were trying for!
Have you tried affiliate marketing yet? If you are in the learning phase, you are probably lost between your swelling inbox and your countless e-books. Well, I know I was. Then I made a big clean-up, kept all the good ones with the great info and ditched the rest. I’ll review those books, where you can get them, whether they are free and the ones you can even sell. But all books on affiliate marketing suggest that even though you don’t need a website, you need a squeeze page, an autoresponder and a thank you page…Well, what if you don’t have the time or the budget or the heart for all these things? I’ll give away a few tips but just for beginners, here are some definitions:
Affiliate Marketing: Basically, an affiliate is someone who brings in business to another person or organization/company. So you are either helping someone make money promoting their business or they are helping you promote yours. The good thing is, many of you are already doing it. You have an referral ID on Triond. Or Bukisa. Or Factoidz. You refer to them in your articles and bring in more writers and revenue. In return, they pay you. This is a type of affiliate marketing. It is simple and fun. Sure it takes a while for your earnings to get rolling in, but the more established and popular you are, you will be able to bring in more people. All this is done with your own number and link.
Squeeze Page: It is any one-page website that is trying to sell you something. Even free products have squeeze pages. If you want the free product, you leave your name and email. An email arrives at your inbox to confirm your subscription. After you confirm it, you get a free product. But of course, the free product will not be the only thing you are getting. You will get information and links and many, many offers that are about products you have to pay for. Now, if the sender emails you too frequently, it gets annoying. You can always opt out and stop receiving those emails. But if the marketer is smart, he will provide value and you will be open to both free and paid products.
Autoresponder: Autoresponder is an email service that makes sure you get all those emails and newsletters you subscribed too. Any internet marketer will tell you that you need to have a list. It makes sense, right? Because even though people may not buy, they are the target audience. You are communicating with exactly who you should be communicating with. Now, there are two downsides: autoresponders- the ones that work without limitations and glitches- cost you money. Aweber is the one I hear most often from all the internet marketers. Now, I know I keep saying internet marketers but don’t be fooled into thinking we are just talking about people who only sell stuff for a living. Affiliate marketing is something all probloggers use as well. In fact, for most of them, that is their number one income source, not advertising. Aweber costs about 19$ /month, with the option of 1$ /month trial for the first month. If you can afford this, and if you are confident you can build lists and sell, then please go ahead and try.If you hate selling in the classical sense, like me, you can wait and test your waters. Are you good at making new contacts? Can you use Twitter, Facebook and other social media to find buyers? Do you even like marketing? This is not something that pros advice. This is just me talking. But I’d try the hard way to see if I can make a sale without a spending money first. I again remind you- it is not how prod do it. But I made a habit of finding out how to make money without spending it first. I’ll explain how in a minute.
Your Website: A lot of marketers brag that they have a system or a method that enables you to sell stuff without building a website. But the funny thing is, building a website is not difficult. There are lots of places online that allow you to build your own free site. Sure, you can also spend a little money. I have a website and my own domain name. I spent money on that, and I continue to. Because the webhost gave me my domain name and total freedom. There are tools in your disposal and tutorials on how to build everything from scratch. You can also host your blog on this domain.
Now, some marketers suggest you buy cheap domain names from someplace as and use a host for the website. But hosts also provide a domain name. I spend 3.45/month for Justhost. If you want to see what I have done with my blog, you can visit pinartarhan.com. I choose what to advertise, what to promote and wordpress has no say in the matter because they are not hosting me. But it is a wordpress blog that comes with all the widgets and advantages wordpress provides. I got the best of both worlds. But remember, you can always blog on free platforms and build links to wherever you want.
Why all this talk on webhosts and blogs? You see for your squeeze pages, you need an autorsesponder. But for a newbie who isn’t even sure he/she wants to sell, 3.45/month is much easier to let go then the additional autoresponder cost. That being said, the moment I make my first couple of sales, I am subscribing to Aweber. They come with their own affiliate program. So it is a service that comes highly recommended, plus it gives you a chance to make money even if you are not using it. I will come back to this in a bit.
As for Justhost, it also has an affiliate program. As far as I know, it is only for its customers because you really need to know how a host works. I chose it because it is the cheapest host that brings in the best quality and it supports wordpress just fine. And when there is a problem, they have both email services that return to you in an hour and 24/7 live operatives. They solve an issue related to your website, even if it is not about them. And they pay to their affiliates, for each subscription. There is also another way you can make money when it comes to webhosting, but it is a subject to another article.
Article Marketing: Now, countless posts and articles have been written on article marketing, just here on Triond. Probloggers/marketers debate on how useful it is, as all article directories come with their limitations on the links they allow. I go to detail in this on my 28 Ways to Increase Traffic to Your Website/Blog/Article post. It is up to you to how many article directories or online content publishing websites such as Triond/Bukisa/Wikinut you will use. You can combine the two tactics. Beware that I am not talking about Factoidz, because it is more limiting. Triond is liberating and Bukisa lets me put links to my blog. As many as I want. So let’s say you wrote a promotional/affiliate article on Triond. You republished it on Bukisa but it got reject ed because it was too promotional. Don’t give up. Leave the promotional links out. Instead, write a little different article and place your Triond article’s link. You see you will be making money three ways. You will be getting pageviews from both Bukisa and Triond and plus your affiliate programs will be paying you. And in the mean time, if you have a blog or a website, you also have promoted them. If you had advertising, you earned directly. If not, you gained viewers, and authority (considering you wrote well and provided value).
So whether it is article marketing, online content publishing or both, you can’t afford ignoring this message. Because this is the one free way that will make you money without you spending money. And if the worst happens and no one clicks on your referral links, you will still be earning from pageviews.
Your Affiliate Options: Basically, you have endless options on what you can promote. Of course if you have your own products, you can make people affiliates for you. But that will be discussed later. For now, let’s talk about what you can promote without owning websites, squeeze pages or autoresponders:
-The sites you are writing for: Triond,Bukisa, Factoidz, Wikinut
Getting individual links might be tricky, but once you figure that out, you can put links in your articles. Hubpages and Squidoo have special modules designed for you to do just that.In fact, I read these really great ebooks that guide you on how to make money using Squidoo and Hubpages as your website/squeeze page. Get an amazon affiliate id by joining amazon associates. And promote whatever you want, however you want. But if you do have a website, you can even choose from lots of amazon widgets and link types.
My blog is a publisher of ads. But luckily, most ad networks give you the option to promote the network as well. Even if you don’t have a site to place ads, you just promote the network. The beauty of it, just like promoting writing websites, people don’t pay you anything. It is free. You are providing free information to people so that they can go and sign up for free and make money. If this is not affiliate marketing heaven, then what is?
Affiliate netwotrk. You promote any suitable offer. Sure some offers have country limitations but peerfly doesn’t. And you can always promote peerfly. Of course like any other network and websites above, you get paid when your referrals make revenue. But, once they do, you will be making money effortlessly. One referral may not be much and your second person might be lazy. If you have 100 referrals, some of them will make you money.
When you know something really well, when you have accomplished in an area, you can try and coach others. That’s how there are probloggers. The guys blogged, made money and now, they are selling their services. Mind you these guys offer a lot of great free info. I learned so much from them. But I didn’t have money. I had time so I gathered my own knowledge. That took me months. But if you can afford these guys, you should enroll and get to make money blogging or make money online right away. But if these guys are offering affiliate programs even to those who haven’t undertaken the course, join in. In fact, I should do a research and write about it too. Bloggers play nice with each other. Each problogger makes a living by not just selling his own product but selling other bloggers’ too. Of course there are guidelines to promoting a product you haven’t used. You start your review by admitting you haven’t used it.
I just registered yesterday. It is free and if your blog is accepted, you can get job offers top write about websites, products and services. And you can also promote the site as an affiliate. Ain’t selling without selling grand? And guess how I found this site. From a free e-book I subscribed to on someone’s squeeze page…

There are sites that pay you to click and view ads. They also have affiliate programs. Now, there are lots of sites like this. I haven’t got a paycheck so I don’t know if they pay. The minimum is . But you can reach it by referring a lot of people. You get paid every time your referral signs up. You get paid a lot more if they upgrade. A similar site is golden galaxy. They pay out at a much smaller amount. I am using the site, but I haven’t reached the limit so I don’t know if they pay. However, it is free for you and your referrals so why not give it a shot?
This is all for this article. I’ll be back with more affiliate terms, options and more. My plan is to come I up with a list for best resources on teaching affiliate marketing. We just touched the surface with this.Happy Affiliate Marketing!
